My Soundscape
Music that touches the soul
I have included a playlist of songs to inspire the soundtrack and score for a movie based on my sagas. I'm a huge rock fan and want the soundtrack to be powerful and intense, with war drums and epic guitar riffs echoing from the distance so they don't overwhelm the sound mix. Guitars can be made to sound like fluctuating strings with the right shredding. Opeth is a brilliant example of the sound I want, they have cascading guitar rythyms that slow down or speed up symphonically, and soaring arpegios that touch the soul.
Epic opuses
I love rock and metal because it has the full sweep of human emotion, from tenderness and love to passion and aggression. I don't want my score to sound angry, but i do want it to build from beautiful melodic segments to grand crescendoes like the Star Wars scores. Music in films is so bland these days, with a few exceptions, I want my score to be powerful and distinctive.
The Youtube musician E Rock would be perfect for integrating orchestral music with guitars and drums, as he has proven with his music covers of Star Wars instrumentals. I'd like him to work hand in hand with the score composer to create something truly magical.
